Harvey

This two-storey residence accommodates the competing needs of a growing family to both have connectedness and separation. Slicing through the middle of the tight block is a dividing timber wall, inspired by the old jetties and scenic boardwalks of the surrounding coast. This slicing boardwalk wall provides the project both openness, inclusiveness and also concealment and separateness in the discrete areas. An offset sunken lounge allows the kitchen oversight without a sense of privacy. A modern representation of Australian family life on the coast.

Location: Henley Beach, SA
